Inspiring Collaborative Art Workshop

The Trust is celebrating a fantastic collaboration between two of our schools, which saw pupils and staff come together for an inspiring cross-phase Art workshop.

The Equinox Learning Trust is celebrating a fantastic collaboration between two of its schools, Whitelands Park Primary School and Kennet School, which saw pupils and staff come together for an inspiring cross-phase Art workshop.

Yesterday, Kennet School Art Teacher, Mrs Martin, worked with a group of Year 5 pupils from Whitelands Park Primary School to create stunning 3D paper sculptures, inspired by the distinctive style of artist Charles McGee. Working in pairs, the pupils explored how bold black and white patterns can be formed through the use of line and shape, developing both their artistic skills and creative confidence.

The workshop was a true testament to the power of collaboration within the Equinox Learning Trust, demonstrating how shared resources and expertise across schools can enrich learning experiences. The pupils showed exceptional concentration and teamwork, and their enthusiasm for the project was evident in the incredible artwork they produced.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Tyne from Whitelands Park and Mrs Nightingale from Kennet for their invaluable support in making this workshop a great success. Their dedication helped to create a positive, engaging, and educational experience for all involved.

This initiative is just one example of how schools within the Equinox Learning Trust benefit from working together, opening doors to new opportunities and broadening the horizons of pupils beyond their own classrooms. By fostering cross-school partnerships, the Trust continues to provide its pupils with exciting and innovative learning experiences that nurture creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
