Our Governance

Welcome from our Chair

I am proud to introduce myself as the Chair of the Equinox Learning Trust. My role as Chair is to ensure the Board sets a clear vision, ethos, and strategic direction for the Trust and, working closely with the CEO, ensure the vision guides the Trust’s operations. 

Since 1 September 2019, the Trust has grown to be responsible for and focused on three schools: Kennet School, Whitelands Park Primary School and Francis Baily Primary School. However, we aspire to grow the Trust further in the not-too-distant future.

Our governance structure is set up like many other multi-academy trusts… we have Members and Directors, organised into a main Trust Board, with several sub-committees such as Finance and Risk, and Safeguarding, with Local Governing Bodies (LGBs) in each of our schools too. All occupants have been chosen for their diverse range of expertise in both education and business.

Governance functions are delegated to members, directors, local governing bodies, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) according to the Trust’s Governance Scheme of Delegation >>>
